Welcome to Korn Camp - 2022. We are hoping for a “normal” registration process. Plans are for “open registration” to be held on Tues., Jan. 11, 2022 at 9am (eastern). Camps fill almost instantly. Demand will far exceed supply. We are so sorry for that. If you do not secure a spot, please join the wait list for your desired camps. We suggest you prepare for the registration process by reading the “ON-LINE REGISTRATION /PAYMENT DETAILS” in any camp brochure. It will help. Thank you..

Mitch is in his 4th season with the NY Islanders after 4 years with the Washington Capitals, 16 seasons with the Nashville Predators and 7 seasons with the Buffalo Sabres. Mitch is celebrating his 31st year in the NHL…and was a Stanley Cup Champion in 2018.

His hard work, superb communication skills, ability to “dissect" a goalie’s game, and great sense of humor have gained him the respect and friendship of those he has coached and worked with at all levels. In 2010, “The Hockey News” chose Mitch as “one of the top 10 Genius’ in hockey”.

With Robin Lehner’s nomination in 2019 and Braden Holtby’s  earning of the 2016 Vezina Trophy, it marked the 9th Korn coached goalie nomination and 5th awarded Vezina for Korn.  Dominik Hasek also won 2 MVP Hart trophies under Korn. He is the only coach in NHL history to coach a goaltender to a Vezina Trophy with two different teams (Buffalo, Washington) and to have earned 3 Jennings Trophies (fewest goals against) with 3 different teams (Buffalo, Washington, NY Islanders).

Fondly referred to as “Children of the Korn” (a phrase coined by Islanders head coach Barry Trotz) these current and former goalies (many of whom are now coaching) have benefited from and helped spread the “goalie gospel according to Mitch”.

Mitch has coached many present and former pro goalies including Semyon Varlomov, Ilya Sorokin, Cory Schneider, Thomas Greiss, Chris Gibson, Braden Holtby, Philipp Grubauer, Vitek Vanecek, Robin Lehner, Pekka Rinne, Carter Hutton, Devin Dubnyk, Scott Darling, Pheonix Copley, Parker Milner, Mike McKenna, Chris Mason, Dan Ellis, Marty Biron, Dominik Hasek, and Tomas Vokoun, (to name a few).

Mitch has coached and influenced many others who have (in the past) or who are currently coaching professionally. Some include: Ben Vanderklok (Nashville), Scott Murray (Wash.), Steve Briere (Toronto), Wade Flaherty (Winnipeg), Mike Bales (Buffalo), Olaf Kolzig (development for Wash.), Mike Dunham (AHL for Boston), Justin Peters (AHL for Ottawa), Drew McIntyre (AHL for Winnipeg), Alex Westlund (AHL for Wash.), Seamus Kotyk (AHL for Buffalo), Karel Popper (USHL), Karl Goehring (North Dakota), Shane Connelly (U. of Wisconsin), Grant Fuhr (formerly Phoenix), Corey Hirsch (formerly St. Louis), Mike Valley (formerly Dallas), Clint Malarchuk (formerly Calgary), and Jan Lasak (Slovakia).

In addition, Mitch has trained countless others who now are in the "hockey business" coaching goalies and others, scouting and training a "new generation" of goaltenders/players at various levels. Some include Nick Petraglia, Chris Economou, Justin Goldman, Nick Johnsen, Phil Bowles, Bob Janosz, Svein Hagaseth, Jon DeCastro, Bill Pye, Jerome Bergquist, Robb Stauber, Justin Camuto, Cody Osborne, Cam Doomany, Dillon Caffrey, Andrew Furbush, Laura Pecchia, Eric Sorenson, Bill Horn, Jim Stanaway, Nick Blanchette, Chris Carter, Kevin Kreutzer, Rich Shulmistra, Dan Kodatsky, Tom Sullivan, Alvin Dow, etc. Mitch is truly a teacher and a mentor.

Mitch has over 40 years of organizing and running summer hockey programs and is personally deeply involved in each Camp. He is absolutely “hands on”.

  • Mitch teaches all aspects of the Goalie Camps.
  • Who can match 31 years of NHL coaching?
  • Does anyone have a better resume of pupils?
  • Our system is not just theory...it works!
  • Our Defenseman Program is run by Adam McHugh. Nobody breaks down the position better than Adam.
  • Mitch will personally answer any question you have via phone or email.
  • We just don't hammer pucks at the goalies.
  • Each goalie will definitely be a much smarter goalie when they finish with our camps.

Hey Mitch! … I wanted to thank you for holding the goalie camps that you do during your summer months. I always thought it was amazing that someone at the top of their profession would be willing to help form the foundation on the next generation of goaltenders. I was also always impressed with your intensity, sense of humor, character, and relatability to each individual goalie on the ice.  You have made many memories for me, with my son David, because it gave me the opportunity to see him develop and grow into an incredible goaltender with a positive attitude, and, also into the man he is becoming. Thanks for all that you do.

This is Henry’s (14-year-old from Chicago) mom. We are thrilled that he was able to experience Korn Camp! We were very impressed with all the coaches and how efficiently and smoothly the camp is run. Henry loved the teaching style, how explanations were simple and clear, and how you all broke down the components of goaltending. He enjoyed practicing the drills, including new ones. New moves he learned were the half butterfly and butterfly extensions. He commended the learning environment and positive vibe of the camp. He came home ready for the season with the mentality to “keep going, just make saves even if you give up goals.” His summary of the camp was that it was the best goaltending camp he has attended and that it was “pretty fun” — it is hard to impress a teenager, so the translation is Korn Camp is AMAZING! Thank you to Mitch and all the coaches!

Here’s a picture of you and my son, Daniel Zakula. He attended the July 24 -27 Goalie Camp in Reston, VA and had the time of his life! His dad and I were very impressed with your camp and can’t thank you enough for the time you make available to these kids in addition to your NHL responsibilities. Daniel wants to attend next year as well!

I wanted to share what Cailyn said to me the last day of camp that I think you'd appreciate. We're in the car and I ask her what her favorite drill was and what she liked about that day. Then I asked her "Do you feel you're a better goalie after the camp?" Her response was…"maybe, but I really understand a lot more now. I'm a smarter goalie, I understand why I'm doing things the way I should. I got a lot out of the classroom stuff, more than I thought." Thanks for an amazing camp experience! And your staff did an incredible job while you had to try to win the CUP… lol. Great group.

Hope you are recovering from the camps! Thank you (and your awesome staff) for an amazing camp... it'll take Parker a long while to come down off the high he is on! He'll treasure that ear of Korn he won. See you next summer!
