Tomas Vokoun and Chris Mason
*Dan Ellis and Chris Mason during the 07-08 season
Now in his 11th season with the Nashville Predators, Mitch previously spent seven seasons as the Goaltending Coach for the Buffalo Sabres organization. His hard work, superb communication skills, and great sense of humor have gained him the respect and friendship of those he has coached which include Dominik Hasek, Tomas Vokoun, Chris Mason, Dan Ellis, Steve Shields, Robb Stauber, Marty Biron, Olaf Kolzig, Pekka Rinne, Brian Finley, Ty Conklin, Steve McKichan (formerly the Toronto Maple Leaf goalie coach), Clint Malarchuk (now the Columbus Blue Jackets goalie coach), Grant Fuhr (now Phoenix Coyote goalie coach), Mike Dunham (now NY Islander Goalie Coach), and Corey Hirsch (now the Tornoto Maple Leaf goalie coach).
.
In addition, Mitch has trained countless young men who now are in the "goalie business" coaching and training a "new generation" of goaltenders. Some include Chris Economou, Bob Janosz, Bill Pye, Aaron Kinslow, Mike Valley, Alan Avery, Nick Petraglia, Laura Pecchia, Richard Shulmistra, etc.
.
Besides his Predator responsibility, Mitch is the Director of the Summer Hockey School at Miami University in Oxford, Ohio, where he has been for nearly 30 years. Miami competes in Division I Hockey in the CCHA. Mitch has over 30 years of organizing and running summer hockey programs. Mitch will personally do all the coaching for each Goalie Camp. He is on ice for the entire week long and weekend goalie programs!

*Always teaching.
  • Mitch teaches all aspects of the Goalie Schools.
  • Who can match18 years of NHL coaching?
  • Does anyone have a better resume of pupils?
  • Our system is not just theory...it works!
  • Our Defenseman Program is run by Norm McCauley and Matt Cady. Nobody breaks down the position better than Norm and Matt.
  • Mitch will personally answer any question you have via phone or email.
  • We just don't hammer pucks at the goalies.
    WE TEACH!
  • Each goalie will definitely be a much smarter goalie when they finish with our camps.

Just wanted to let you know how impressed I was with your camp that you had 2 weeks ago in Cincinnati. My son Christian has attended many camps (Kent State Goalie camp, Jon Elkins in Toronto, etc..) and he said that your camp was by far his "favorite".   He came home and didn't want to do anything for two days so I know you worked him very hard!  Give a thanks to all of your coaches as well-especially "Wolfie" from Christian. Christian will be attending Miami (Oh) and your camps again next summer!
Good luck to you and the Predators this season! We usually go to Chicago to see them play each other at least once a year!

I just wanted to send a quick note of thanks for a wonderful goalie camp you led in St. Louis.  Marcus had a great time and learned so much.  You are one of the rare and lucky people who love what they are doing and it shows.  You put so much into those camps, it's remarkable.  Your attention to detail is something that I don't see often.  I wish all the best of success to you and all the goalies whose lives you touch. Thank you

We wanted to tell you that Trent was selected once again for the Welland Tigers AAA Bantam team in Welland, Ontario.  He was a little sluggish at spring tryouts but really picked it up after your summer camp in Buffalo. Your camp really made a difference this year and he even mentioned during the camp that he was learning a lot.  Thanks a lot and hope all is well with you.
